11 Weeks... growing way too fast!

Colby is already 11 weeks old. I can't believe how fast this time has gone by. I just want to cherish every little moment with him. This week was a tough one for me. I went back to work on Monday. I have to say I cried everyday this week. Just leaving him was so hard. I know he is in good hands, but it is not momma's hands! Chase really enjoyed staying home with him. They go on a run everyday, run errands, and of course play! I am really glad that Colby is getting to bond with his daddy so much. I am always interested to see what Colby is dressed in when I get home. Daddy now has that duty because mommy leaves before Colby gets up. He is now smiling and doing the cutest facial expressions. I try to capture them on camera, but I have not been successful yet. Pictures do not do him justice... he is SO cute! I think he weighs about 11 pounds now! He loves to eat:)
On a different note, please pray for my sister and baby niece. She is currently 18 1/2 weeks pregnant with her second baby. She is now on bedrest in hopes to have a full term pregnancy. Her doctors are now shooting for at least 28 weeks. You can learn more about her story at http://www.prayforcoy.blogspot.com/

Too cute!

This week is the last week I get to stay at home with my precious baby boy before going back to work. Everytime I think about it, I start to cry. I am already counting down the days until summer... 10 weeks! I know he will be in good hands when I am at work, so that helps alittle. Colby is getting so big and smiling all the time. It is so fun to get him to smile. Unfortunately, this week we have had a diaper problem. I thought he was able to wear size 1-2 diapers, but obviously his legs are too skinny and he poops out the leg hole. We are on outfit #3 today! I went to Target and bought more size 1 diapers (the size he was in when we brought him home.) Hopefully, that will correct our diaper problems:) I have a picture of one diaper explosion where it came out onto me and the couch, but I won't post that:)

Doctor's Appointment- 10 weeks

Yesterday, we went to Colby's 2 month check-up. He had to get 6 vaccines- 1 oral and 3 shots! I had to leave the room when they were giving him the shots. I went to make his next appointment while daddy stayed with him in the room. I could hear him scream, and it broke my heart. We gave him baby tylenol before and have been giving it to him every 4 hours. He seems to be dealing with the pain great! I think the shots hurt me more than him:) Now for his stats....
When he was born:
Weight- 8lbs. 2.6 oz.
Length- 20.75 in.
Head- 13.5 in.

10 Weeks:
Weight- 10lbs. 6.5 oz. (25-50%)
Length- 23.5 in. (50-75%)
Head- 15 in. (10-25%)

9 weeks- My Handsome Little Man!

Colby is now 9 weeks old. He is growing up so fast. I wish I could hit a pause or slow motion button where he can stay young forever. I absolutely love being home with my little boy. Everyday, I wake up excited to play with Colby! He is now smiling all the time at Chase and me. He is also cooing and making cute little noises. I have been able to capture some of them on video. We go to the doctor on Monday, so I will update more then.

About halfway through, Colby gets excited and squeals! So CUTE! :)

"Daddy don't kiss me!" Colby curls out his bottom lip when he is about to cry. It is the cutest little thing.

2 months old....already???

Colby is now 2 months old! It is really hard to believe. It seems like yesterday we saw him for the first time in the delivery room. Man, time really does fly by. He is changing everyday. I look at pictures from when he was first born, and he doesn't even look like the same baby. His first week of life he was so sleepy and barely ever opened his eyes. Now, he is so alert, and we can't get him to close his eyes! Really...he never takes naps. Unless he is in his stroller on a walk, he wants to be wide awake. We have tried everything to get him to take naps in his bed during the day, but I think he is just not the napping type:) He seems to be sleeping pretty well during the night, so that is good. The nights are still random... some nights he sleeps from 11-4, some 9:30- 4:30, and others 10- 5:30. I will take any of those because it is WAY better than the every 2-3 hours like before. We were suppose to have a doctor's appointment today, but they had to reschedule because they did not have all the vaccines he needed. So, lucky for him... he gets to wait another week before his 5 shots! I tried to weigh him and measure how long he was. To the best of my knowledge, he weighs about 10lbs. and is 26" long. We will see for sure when we go to the doctor though. Here are a few pictures...

"My hands taste good"

I think... 26" long

"I am cool!"

Wide awake baby!

7 Weeks!

Colby has surprised us this week. He is now sleeping between 6-7 hours straight at night! I hope this continues. I feel like a new person when I actually can sleep through the night without any interruptions. Naps on the other hand are not working out so well. Colby pretty much refuses to sleep during the day. I really don't know how he is not tired during the day. He cries and cries until you pick him up. It is really hard to get anything done during the day, but I guess I can't have both. I would much rather him sleep at night than during the day. Yesterday, we took Colby to his first Rice baseball game. I was a little worried because it was his first big outing, but he did great. He fell asleep in the car on the way home, but when we took him out of his car seat and put on his PJ's, he was ready to play. Our schedule did get a little messed up, so Colby did not sleep his usual 6-7 hours. We finally got him to bed at 12:30 and he woke up to eat about 5. On Friday, Colby will have his 2 month appointment which requires 5 shots! I am thinking I am just going to let Chase take him because I don't want to watch my baby get poked:(. I was able to get a video of Colby looking at himself in the swing mirror. You might have to turn your head because I filmed it sideways:)
