On the move...

Colby has now started crawling! He only takes a few "real" crawling steps, then he goes back to his army crawl which he has mastered. Our house is now being baby proofed. I had Colby playing in his room and the next thing I knew he was army crawling right into the hallway. I will definitely have to get use to having a mobile child. No longer are the days I can leave anything on the floor without tiny little hands grabbing for it:) He now claps and waves... the cutest little thing! He absolutely loves other kids. He gets to see his cousins quite a bit and the babysitter has 16 month old twins which he plays with every Friday. Yesterday, his birthday buddy, Cooper came over to play. They were born on the same day just a few hours apart. They definitely interacted more than they had in the past. Cooper just wanted to kiss or eat Colby.:) We are going through Baptism classes, so we are hoping to get him baptized in October or November. He still weighs about 17 pounds, but we are going to the doctor in a few weeks for more shots, so I will update on the stats then. Here are a few pics from this week....

He is now able to take the books off of the coffee table... and open drawers.

More teeth...

Colby now has 4 teeth! It did not take long before 2 more teeth popped up. His top two front teeth cut through at the same time, so you can imagine it was a rough week:( His gums were very swollen, and he wouldn't eat his solids or finish his bottles... VERY unusual for him. They have finally cut through, so he is now back to his happy self, which makes for a happy mommy as well:) He has now started babbling "ba-ba" too. We are STILL working on "ma-ma," but he has "da-da" down pat. This past week we went to see my friend, Molly's baby Sam for the first time. I can already picture Colby and Sam getting into lots of trouble together. Here are a few pics from this week...

Happy 8 Months!

Yesterday, Colby turned 8 months old! I can't believe how fast these past 8 months have gone by! He is still trying really hard to crawl, but hasn't figured out how to move his hands once he is on his hands and knees. He will be getting into everything in a matter of no time, so I am cherishing these last few moments of having breakable items in my house! He hasn't been feeling himself lately. I think he is getting more teeth... the top two front teeth. I know my poor baby is in pain, and I feel so helpless because I can't do much besides put Baby Oraljel on his gums. Hopefully, they will cut through soon, so he can get back to his happy self. Well that is until more teeth come! At 8 months, Colby weighs about 17 pounds! What can I say, he LOVES to eat!!!
