5 Months Old!

I can't believe my baby is 5 months old. The time has flown by. I have learned to cherish every moment with Colby because you will never get this time back. I really wish I could just stop time and keep him my little baby boy forever. He is so adorable! Some things that I never want to forget about Colby at this age...
- How he wakes up cooing in the morning.
- When I go into his room to get him in the morning, he gives the biggest smile when I peek over his crib.
- How his hands fascinate him. He can play with his own hands for hours.
- How he smiles back at me when I make kissing noises
- How excited he gets when he sees his daddy
- His constant cooing/ talking/ squeals
- How when we take him out to eat, he is perfectly content in his car seat staring at mommy
- How he blows bubbles
- How excited he gets to see himself in the mirror
- His adorable laugh
I think the list could go on forever:) Here are a few pictures from yesterday and today. We tried the pool again today, and he LOVED it! There will be many trips to Grams and Grandpa's house to swim this summer.

Such a Happy... Mommy!- 21 Weeks

Today was my last day of teaching full time! I am super excited about summer and getting to spend everyday being a full time mommy to Colby. I am also excited that even when summer ends, I will still get to spend 4 or 5 days a week with Colby every week. I will be doing a job share next year. That means I am sharing a class with another teacher. I will work every Monday and Tuesday. She will work every Thursday and Friday. And we will switch off every other Wednesday. That way I won't miss any milestones that Colby meets:) Speaking of milestones... this week Colby started to reach out and touch his toys. He has an aquarium playmat that he lays under with toys that hang above. He reaches up and touches the fish now. He can even turn on the music that one of the fish has! Even crazier... the other day he was making fish faces at the fish. I kid you not! It was hilarious! My mom and dad were witnesses to it also. He would do it, then we would laugh at him. Then he would stop and look at us. Then go back to make fish faces! Another thing that he has started this week... grabbing his feet. I know you are thinking big deal, but in baby development IT IS! I was able to get a picture of him doing it.

Grabbing his foot and of course smiling!

We took Colby to the Rice game this weekend. This is daddy carrying Colby into the game. Daddy bought him a Rice onesie to wear, and he wore daddy's hat so his little head wouldn't burn.
I was also brave enough to agree to babysit my twin 1 year old niece and nephew on Saturday. This is Colby and his cousins playing together.:)
Sister update: My sister is currently 28 weeks pregnant! (Praise God) Today she had another ultrasound, and Cydney weighed 2lbs. 6 oz. (almost double what Coy weighed at birth.) My sister is feeling much better, and even shopping (online) for baby girl clothes, furniture, and bedding. Cydney is definitely going to be the best dressed little girl around:)

Memorial Day- 20 weeks!

For Memorial Day, we decided to take Colby swimming for the first time! I bought him a cute swimsuit and matching hat. We took him to my parents' house to hang out with the family and of course get into the pool. I thought for sure he would like the pool because he likes his baths. The pool water was way colder than I expected it to be in the end of May. We put him in and he seemed to like it okay. I think he will like it much better when the water becomes warm like bath water in the next month. We also discovered that he loves the backyard swing at my parents' house. Even if he only lasted a few minutes in the pool, I got some adorable pictures:)

Getting ready to go...sunglasses, sandals, paci- check:)

I am so cool!

The sun was too bright, so I couldn't get him to look up.

Pictures- 19 weeks!

He is almost rolling from back to belly.

Starting to like his jumper more!
I left the room for a second, this is how I found him:)
Colby with his new teething toy... we named him Frank! Cousin Coy had the same one which was named George. ( We had to come up with a new name)

Colby with Frank! I have a feeling they will become best of friends the next couple of months:)

Ready to crawl? :)

Colby with Grams and Grandpa Cook.
I am convinced that Colby loves to hear his own voice! He just talks and talks wherever we are. Yesterday, at Target he was doing his squeals... it was very loud and people kept looking at him. But it is always an excited, happy squeal. I am very thankful for that!

One Happy Baby!- 18 weeks

Colby is such a happy baby! He is always smiling, that is when his hands are not in his mouth. Lately, it has been hard to get a picture of him without his hands in his mouth. I don't think he is teething yet, but it might not be too far off! We also discovered that he loves his cousin Coy. When Grams was watching both Colby and Coy on Tuesday, they just kept laughing at each other... I can tell already they are going to be best buds! Also, Colby has been sleeping through the night for the past 3 or 4 weeks now! I mean sleeping from 8:30pm-8:30am, sometimes later everyday! I absolutely LOVE that I get my sleep. For awhile there, I thought I would never sleep again:) Well, I am counting down the days of school before summer... 13 days until I get to spend everyday with my baby boy!!! Here are a few pics from lately.

I LOVE him!

Mommy is so funny!

Look how long he is...

4 Months Old!

Colby is 4 months old! It is so hard to believe that it has already been 4 months since we first held our precious little boy in our arms. I thank God everyday for such a blessing. Today, Colby went to the doctor for his 4 month check- up and shots. Daddy took him because Mommy had to work...(It was field day.) Chase said that Colby did so good with the shots and did not cry... hard to believe because he got stuck twice! I typed up a bunch of questions to ask the doctor. One of my questions was if he could now start to play in his jumper. She said it was fine, so tonight I set up the jumper. I think we might have to wait a little longer on it because his feet don't touch the floor, but I got some cute pictures of his first time in it:) She was pleased with his progress... here are his 4 month stats.
Weight- 13 lbs. 6oz. (10-25%)
Length- 26 in. (75-90%)
Head- 16 in. (10-25%)

Looking at the lights on the jumper:)

I was able to catch a roll halfway through... I will keep trying to get the full roll:)

Milestones- 16 weeks!

Today, Colby rolled over for the first time! Unfortunately, I did not get it on video. The past couple of days, every time I put Colby down for Tummy Time, I have my camera on video ready to catch his first roll. Today, I was doing the same thing...I just knew today was going to be the day:) I put the camera down for a minute because his laundry was done, and I needed to put it in the dryer. I was gone for a minute (at most). When I came back, he was on his back.. smiling like he was so proud of himself! I couldn't believe it. I was so ready for it, and I literally left for a minute and missed it:( Hopefully, I can catch it on video very soon, and I will post it. Colby also started a new spitting thing. He blows spit bubbles all the time now as you can see in the video. He will be 4 months on Wednesday and is going to the doctor for a check-up and shots. I will posts his stats on Wednesday!
