9 weeks- My Handsome Little Man!

Colby is now 9 weeks old. He is growing up so fast. I wish I could hit a pause or slow motion button where he can stay young forever. I absolutely love being home with my little boy. Everyday, I wake up excited to play with Colby! He is now smiling all the time at Chase and me. He is also cooing and making cute little noises. I have been able to capture some of them on video. We go to the doctor on Monday, so I will update more then.

About halfway through, Colby gets excited and squeals! So CUTE! :)

"Daddy don't kiss me!" Colby curls out his bottom lip when he is about to cry. It is the cutest little thing.

2 months old....already???

Colby is now 2 months old! It is really hard to believe. It seems like yesterday we saw him for the first time in the delivery room. Man, time really does fly by. He is changing everyday. I look at pictures from when he was first born, and he doesn't even look like the same baby. His first week of life he was so sleepy and barely ever opened his eyes. Now, he is so alert, and we can't get him to close his eyes! Really...he never takes naps. Unless he is in his stroller on a walk, he wants to be wide awake. We have tried everything to get him to take naps in his bed during the day, but I think he is just not the napping type:) He seems to be sleeping pretty well during the night, so that is good. The nights are still random... some nights he sleeps from 11-4, some 9:30- 4:30, and others 10- 5:30. I will take any of those because it is WAY better than the every 2-3 hours like before. We were suppose to have a doctor's appointment today, but they had to reschedule because they did not have all the vaccines he needed. So, lucky for him... he gets to wait another week before his 5 shots! I tried to weigh him and measure how long he was. To the best of my knowledge, he weighs about 10lbs. and is 26" long. We will see for sure when we go to the doctor though. Here are a few pictures...

"My hands taste good"

I think... 26" long

"I am cool!"

Wide awake baby!

"Mom, no more pictures!"

7 Weeks!

Colby has surprised us this week. He is now sleeping between 6-7 hours straight at night! I hope this continues. I feel like a new person when I actually can sleep through the night without any interruptions. Naps on the other hand are not working out so well. Colby pretty much refuses to sleep during the day. I really don't know how he is not tired during the day. He cries and cries until you pick him up. It is really hard to get anything done during the day, but I guess I can't have both. I would much rather him sleep at night than during the day. Yesterday, we took Colby to his first Rice baseball game. I was a little worried because it was his first big outing, but he did great. He fell asleep in the car on the way home, but when we took him out of his car seat and put on his PJ's, he was ready to play. Our schedule did get a little messed up, so Colby did not sleep his usual 6-7 hours. We finally got him to bed at 12:30 and he woke up to eat about 5. On Friday, Colby will have his 2 month appointment which requires 5 shots! I am thinking I am just going to let Chase take him because I don't want to watch my baby get poked:(. I was able to get a video of Colby looking at himself in the swing mirror. You might have to turn your head because I filmed it sideways:)

In honor of "Go Texan Day"!
My Little Cowboy:) Doesn't it look like he is ready to lasso something?

Smiles!

Colby has definitely been more interested in things this week. It is so fun to see him stare and smile at things. Recently, he discovered the mirror on his swing. He loves to stare at himself:) He knows how handsome he is. We have also been able to get him to smile more. I was able to capture it on video. We are loving parenthood with our little angel! Enjoy the pics and video:)

Please excuse my baby talk:)
"Oh, this is how I look!"
"Wow, I am cute!"

Happy Valentine's Day!

"Sealed with a kiss"

"Little Heartbreaker"

"I'm the man of your dreams"

I decided to play dress up with Colby this morning. He has 3 V-day outfits, so I wanted to put them all on him! It is hard to believe our little boy is already 51/2 weeks old. He is getting bigger everyday. This week he started to smile at Chase and me. It is the coolest thing. I haven't been able to catch it with the camera yet, but I will keep trying. On Tuesday, Chase and I had our first date since Colby was born. My parents watched Colby, and he was an angel for them.:) It was nice to get out of the house, but we missed him even though we were only gone for an hour. Yesterday, I went to school for the Valentine's party. The kids were so excited to see me, they almost knocked me down. It was good to be back with the kids and teachers, but I am not ready to be back full time. I am loving being home with my precious baby boy! I am going to cherish these last 5 weeks being home with him. We hope everyone has a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

1 Month Old!

Colby is 1 month old today! It is hard to believe! He is growing everyday. He already looks so different then when he was born. He is now opening his eyes and keeping them open more often. It feels like he doesn't even sleep during the day anymore. He is holding his head much better. When he is laying on my chest, he can pick up his head! He eats ALL the time! I feel like I am constantly nursing him, but he is a growing boy:) The sleep thing we are working on. He has been extremely fussy at nights. I have come to the conclusion he probably has Colic. It is just sad that he doesn't feel good and there is really nothing we can do. On the average, he sleeps about 3- 4 hours, then wakes up to feed, then another 3 hours. Last night he surprised us... He slept through the night! Yes, from 11-7! I couldn't believe it. I literally put my hand on his chest to make sure he was breathing. It was great! I am hoping that it wasn't just a fluke, and he will do it again... but I know it is wishful thinking:) Here are a couple recent pictures...
This is the outfit I came home in! Thanks Aunt Ree:)
Today, I am 1 month old!
